Young Carers
At Abbey Primary school we are proud to have Miss M Harman as our Designated Young Carers Lead.
In this role, she will provide dedicated support to the pupils who are identified as Young Carers and act as a key point od contact for both children and families. A young Carer is a child or young person under the age of 18 who provides regular care and emotional support to a family member who has a physical illness, disability, mental health condition, or substance dependency. The care may include helping with daily tasks, managing responsibilities at home, or offering emotional support.
At Abbey Primary school, we recognise the incredible strength and compassion of our Young Carers. We are committed to ensuring they fell understood, supported, feel safe and understood, and celebrated- both in school and beyond.
