Mrs Skinner - Reception

My name is Lynn Skinner and I am the Early Years Educator in Lilac class where I work with Miss Challen supporting the children in all aspects of their learning.   After eight years at Abbey I am excited to have joined the reception team this year and am enjoying learning all about life in a reception class.  I have completed Signalong phase 1 and 2 (A basic sign language for children) and have loved helping the children learn to sign.  I am also a qualified first aider.

 

 

Mrs Head - Nursery and Reception

Hello my name is Laura Head and I am one of the Early Years Educators within the Foundation Stage.  I work Monday to Wednesday and this year I have changed my role slightly.  In the Autumn term I will be working in the nursery helping the new children settle and feel safe in their surroundings.  Then in the Spring term I will working in both nursery and reception supporting all children in all areas of learning.  In the Summer term I will be working in the reception year helping the children with their transition to year 1.  I am really looking forward to working with all the children and staff in the Foundation stage. 

 

 

Miss Cumming - Reception

My name is Amy Cumming and I am an Early Years Educator in Pink class.  I have been working at Abbey for 6 years now and I love my job.  I am currently in reception with Mrs Lang and it is my 2nd year with her.  I sometimes work in the infant playground or dinner hall so if you see me don't forget to say hi!

 

 

 

Mrs Worrell - Nursery

Hi my name is Mrs Worrell, I am an Early Year Educator.  I really enjoy my job, working with children I find really rewarding.  I have an exciting year ahead as I have moved into the Nursery.  Its great working alongside Miss Hamilton and Mrs Head.  We all make a brilliant team!

 

 

 

Mrs Samarcco - Year 1

I have been associated with the school for 26 years, as a parent and a member of the PA.  For 18 years I've been a midday supervisor and a Teaching Assistant for 13 years.  I am at present in Orange class, Year 1.  I teach RML and support children in class.

 

 

 

Mrs Dawkins - Year 1

Hello my name is Mrs Dawkins.  This is my forth year at Abbey.  I am a teaching assistant in Red class, year 1 with Miss Beaton.  The new school year has begun beautifully and I am very much looking forward to the rest of the year.

 

 

 

 

Mrs Bennett - Year 2

Hi my name is Karen Bennett.  I have worked at Abbey for 11 years and really enjoy it here.  I have just started my second year in Year 2 with Miss Harris.  I teach RML to a group of 13 children every morning which can be quite challenging.  Throughout the day I work with groups within the classroom and also work with some children for one to one teaching doing interventions for RML, numeracy and handwriting.  At lunch time I supervise in the infants playground. 

 

 

Mrs Hooper - Year 2

Hi, I'm Caroline Hooper and I am a Teaching Assistant now working in Saffron Class.  I have been at the school for seven years but this is my first time working with key stage 1 children.  So everything is quite different for me, however I am finding this challenging but exciting!!!! (I'm not coping well with the small chairs!!!)  I can't wait for our trip to Worthing.....it should be great fun. 

 

 

 

Sandra Thomas - Year 3

Hi, I'm Sandra and I work in both Year 3 classes.  I am enjoying working with all the children in small groups and helping individuals with reading and spelling.  At lunchtime I can be found in the lunchtime club where I run a social skills group.

 

 

 

 

Mrs Laming - Year 4

My name is Mrs Laming.  For the second year running I am working in Year 4.  The first half of the week and I work and support Miss Anderson in Blue class and the second half the week with Mrs Davies in Sapphire class.  It is quite a challenge working with both classes but it does mean I get to work with all of the year 4 children.  At Lunch time I am a lunch time supervisor. 

 

 

 

 

Mrs Dilley - Year 5

Hi my name is Mrs Dilley I'm currently working in Year 5.  It has been an enjoyable but busy start to the year.  I have worked at Abbey for 9 years.  I have worked as a midday supervisor since joining the school.  For the past 8 years I have also worked as a teaching assistant. I also work with groups of children outside of class to give them extra support in areas they find more challenging.   

 

 

 

 

Mrs Paterson - Year 5

My name is Gina.  I have worked as a teaching assistant for 9 years. This is my third year at Abbey and I am really excited to be working in Year 5.  I am happily married and have two wonderful children. 

 

 

Mrs Barrett - Year 5

Hi my name is Gemma.  I am a teaching assistant in Year 5 supporting children with learning difficulties.  I have just started here at Abbey and have really enjoyed my first term.  I am looking forward to a great year ahead.

 

 

 

 

Miss Dallen - Year 6

Hi, I'm Miss Dallen and have been working at Abbey for about three years now.  This year I am working in Year 6.  I work with small groups of children to help them with their numeracy, reading and writing.  At lunchtime you can find me outside on the playground. 

 

  

 

 

 

 

Mrs Campbell - Year 6

Hi, my name is Julie Campbell.  This is my second year in Year 6.  I love working at Abbey everyone is so friendly!  I am looking forward to another busy year supporting Year 6 with their SATS exams. 

 

 

 

                                          

 

Mrs Osborne - Year 6

Hello, I'm Mrs Osborne and I am delighted to be in Year 6 for my second year at Abbey.  I am really looking forward to helping purple class and I can't wait to be able to dress up for decade's day again! 

 

 

 

Miss Hall - EAL

Hello, Hola, Merhaba, Bonjour, Wanakum, Selamat han, Guten Tag,

 I am Lizzie Hall, the school EAL Teaching Assistant.  I work with children from other countries and those who speak English as an additional language.  I also run art club and sometimes my job includes being learning support for children in class too.  I love my job!  It is such fun to work with so many gorgeous people, adults and pupils alike here at Abbey.  Running art club is challenging, but very rewarding.  I love to see the fantastic images that the children create here with me.  We have a lot of fun, I am delighted it is so popular. 

 

 

 

Mrs Doncaster

I am a support assistant.  I go where I am needed whether it be in the classroom in the Foundation Stage or in the office.  My two boys attended this school and I started helping reading.  I have worked here since 1997.  I am a qualified first aider and attend a lot of school trips.
